Lingerie Football League...wow...it was part what I had expected and part not. -A 34 minute football game played by very attractive girls wearing lingerie, shoulder pads and helmets (Oh yeah!). Somewhat surprisingly, it reminds me of "A League of Their Own"/Strip Club and I was actually fairly occupied with wanting San Diego to beat Texas. In general, the San Diego girls played hard (no pun intended) but seemed a bit ill-prepared for the game (particularly the player with several back piercings [you're going to get tackled many times over the next half hour and you think it's a good idea to wear back piercings, really?! By half time, the piercings were covered with bandages]). Some of the strip club flashbacks (I'm neither confirming or denying ever having been to one) occured at the very start of the game, as the indoor arena lights were turned off, the fog machines and strobe lights turned on as the players took the field. Overly loud music was pumped through the sound system during most of the game and several times I had to question whether I was actually on Revolution Street (in Tijuana) or North of the boarder. But I digress...during the game, the players appeared to give it their all and I cringed with the crowd a few times as some players took hits similar to those dished out within an NFL game. In the end, the "San Diego Seduction" lost their home opener to the "Texas Desire" by about 6 to 40 (no, it wasn't even close). But let me say this about that, several of the girls on the Texas team reminded me of the Caster Seymena controversy...(I'm not implying, I'm just saying I was reminded). Also, I found it slightly embarrassing, while trying to root for the home team, to yell, "Come on Seduction" or "Let's go Seduction"...maybe get a 'real' name? Immediately following the game (and I do mean immediately), Seduction was escorted from the sports field and to a small tent where they held a meet and greet. I realize the purpose of this, like most things that happened during the evening, was to generate the most interest in this new sports as possible but come on; give the poor, exhausted girls a few minutes to rest before sending them under a crowded, smelly tent to meet fans. When leaving, my general impression of this new sports was interested and confused; I didn't come expecting to care about the score or whether any of the girls could even catch the ball but when I left I realized I had a great time watching them play but was disappointed 'we' didn't pull out a win. Would I go again? Yep.

p.s. Number 9, will you marry me?
